Here is one thing about us Africans: we like to hold award shows. It is hard to differentiate the qualitative awards shows from the others, because there are just so many. And when it comes to the fashion on the red carpet; it often differs from dresses cut too high to peculiar color combinations and wrong make-up (read our recap from Ghana Movie Awards 2012). But this time, Glitz Style Awards proves that Ghanaian celebs dress and do it well. We are stunned by many of the outfits worn by celebrities like Berla Mundi, Deborah Vanessa, Becca and more. Have a look.
Here are our top 5 favorite looks
Stylist and personal shopper, Empress Jamila obviously came to kill the red carpet with elegance and sophistication. This dress is perfect for red carpet ánd even a wedding. Go girl!
TV and radio personality Berla Addardey wears the kind of dress that is perfectly made for a true ewuraba (twi for a lady). I mean, only the classy can pull off this dress. This dress is the kind of dress Michelle Obama would grace on the red carpet too. Gorge!
Broadcaster and actress Naa Ashorkor carried that same Michelle-Obama-like kind of dress. The color combination and glitter might not be everyone’s cup-of-tea, but she looks glorious.
Miss Deborah Vanessa looked great! She carries a special glow on the red carpet. That dress matches her bubbly and sexy personality perfectly. Word around is that the dress is from her clothing line. The dress is fab, don’t get us wrong but it is a common style which has been done plenty of times before. We feel more innovative dresses can be lined up to her name.
Bertha Owusu took home the prize of Emerging designer of the year. Well deserved! The creative director and couture tailor of Lumiere Couture wore a dress of which we think is unique ànd chic. And that blue, that is my favorite color.
