After a successful first edition held last October, The Brussels African Market (BAM) is back and it is taking place next weekend. This initiative started by Roots Events is one of many aimed at uniting and establishing conversations between the Diaspora and Africa by exposing and promoting Africa’s new talents and all its splendor. The market will take place on Saturday 8th December in the heart of Brussels at the TAG gallery and will run from 11 am throughout the day, offering a fun outing in this festive season with fashion shows, trade stalls, music performances, workshops and much much more.
More than just an exposition and commercial gathering, the BAM is also a great networking event uniting and linking professionals, passionate people and amateurs, in a convivial and relaxed atmosphere. At this event you will find everything from live music events with up-and-coming artists such as Prezy H, art expositions, crafts workshops where you can create your own African-inspired jewelry, African dolls, learn how to wear your Boubous and enjoy authentic African food with specialists-stands from Brussels’ best restaurateurs in everything ranging from Congolese, Togo cuisine to afro-Caribbean/Jamaican cuisine.
Be prepared to have pleasure brought straight to your eyes with its closing Fashion Show featuring the latest from African designs around the Benelux & Germany area such as Malaika Designs, Wusuwaah and many more. But also a Hair Styles Catwalk curated by Kikie Tresses.
All-in-all, a great outing both for the young and older audience in this festive season so definitely check out the full program and join in on the fun!
We’ll be there so make sure to tweet us and say ‘hi’.
