Last week was Africa Fashion Week London’s (AFWL) turn to make history in African Fashion. For two days various international brands, fashion houses, designers and spectators came together to celebrate one thing: African Fashion. ABINA attended the evening shows of both days. The next video is a short summary of the evening show on day one.
Prelim Fashion brought cuteness and sophistication to the runway with a collection, primarily made of Kente. The collection showcased by Glamelle Boutik reminded me of NYC, which would suit the cast of An African City perfectly. Izelia also showcased a collection that was very elegant. Needle Point showcased a collection that made me smile. The collection was a combination of Ankara and glitter. If Zara would work with known designers in future time, I’d definitely recommend Needle Point.
Watch out for the recap of day 2 and ABINA Meets the Streets report.
