A 10 for creativity: Friday Jam with M.anifest, Locko and Yemi Alade

M.anifest – Forget Dem

M.anifest (Ghana) is not your average M.C. He is one to always tell a story in his videos and lyrics in creative ways. His latest record Forget Dem, produced by KillBeatz (popularily known from R2Bees and his productions for Fuse ODG), is one that takes me back home. With samples from Nana Quame´s Atia Donkor (Ghanaian highlife singer), Killbeatz brought a very innovative tune to the mix. If you ask me, M.anifest gets a 10 for creativity again.

Locko – Margo

Locko is a 23-year old Cameroonian singer/songwriter and producer who started off posting videos of covers on Youtube. His covers quickly went viral on social media platforms and his talent caught the eye of Big Dreams Entertainment label, where he was signed a few months ago. Margo is Locko’s first official single and it’s a beautiful serenade dedicated to a girl he loves, mixing both R&B and Afrobeats with some typical traditional music from Cameroon. We are keeping an eye on this one. Follow Locko on Twitter.

Yemi Alade – Kissing ft Marvin (French version)

We’re ending Friday with a jolly love song by Yemi Alade. The single Kissing has been out for a while, but little did we know a French version featuring Marvin (zouk singer) would follow. This be sweet!
